  • Inviting Legislative Members to visit campus programs
    • OSU hosted Rep. David Edwards in April
    • Generally want to invite (likely) members of W&M Education Subcommittee to see results of ETIC investments.
    • Recommendation is that each campus let key members choose dates that work for them rather than trying to pick a single day per campus.
    • Format should give overview of program and take legislator(s) on tour of labs to hear about faculty research
    • Also should feature students but this can be challenging
      • Which students on which topics.
      • Coaching the students so they cover the key points while at the same time giving their honest perspective.
      • Finding the time in the schedule without making the visit too long or taking too much time away from your very impressive faculty leaders and researchers.
      • Matching the students' schedules to that of the visitors.
