Operational Investment for $20.658 million in State Funds with associated Private Support
The Governor’s Recommended Budget invests $20.658 million in ETIC over the two-year period starting July 2005. This investment will:
- Continue support for base engineering programs, internship efforts, K-14 outreach, and current research projects
- Make enhancements in current engineering curriculum to ensure graduates are work-ready with the latest skills and industry standards
- Make new investments in biomedical and renewable energy engineering to keep pace with Oregon’s emerging industries
The Investment Plan includes a Request for Proposals for Pre-Engineering & Applied Sciences Projects. The program seeks to enhance pre-engineering and applied science education through projects that implement recommendations from the Oregon Pre-Engineering & Applied Sciences Strategic Planning Summit (OPAS).
